Top 5 Maps and Navigation Apps in Ireland Q3 2024

In the third quarter of 2024, the maps and navigation app landscape in Ireland showed distinct trends across the top five applications, as monitored by Sensor Tower. Here’s a closer look at how these apps performed on a unified platform.

Uber - Request a ride from Uber Technologies, Inc. experienced a gradual decline in weekly downloads, starting at approximately 10.2K in early July and dropping to around 6.4K by the end of September. Despite this, weekly active users remained fairly stable, fluctuating between 299K and 316K throughout the quarter.

TFI Live, developed by the National-Transport-Authority, saw a positive trend in weekly downloads, beginning at 5.2K and reaching a peak of 9.2K in early September. Active users also rose steadily, starting at 173K and peaking at about 189K before slightly declining towards the quarter's end.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic from Waze displayed moderate fluctuations in downloads, peaking at 6.9K in early August before settling at 4.8K by late September. Active user numbers showed stability with a slight increase, moving from 162K to approximately 177K over the quarter.

Leap Top-up also from the National-Transport-Authority, mirrored a similar upward trend in downloads, starting at 4.8K and climbing to 9.1K by early September. Active users followed suit, increasing from 119K to a high of 131K during the same period.

Lastly, Bolt: Request a Ride from Bolt Technology showed a downward trend in downloads, which started at 5.7K and decreased to 3.7K by the end of the quarter. Active users remained relatively stable, with numbers hovering around 26K to 29K.
